The Force Crack the Liberty In Third Meeting

Wichita, KS (May 15) - On Friday May 12th, the Wichita Force took on the Salina Liberty for their third meeting this season.
 
With a relatively silent first half the game started off slow.  There were no scores in the first quarter.  The second quarter opened up with a rushing touchdown by Salina’s Tracy Brooks.  On the Force’s first drive of the second quarter QB Jake Medlock rushed for a one-yard touchdown.  Later in the quarter Force DB Darien Anderson would pick off Salina QB Michael German for a short return; however the Force were unable to convert. The score at the half was tied, 7-7.
 
In the third quarter Wichita began to find their momentum.  Wichita RB Tyler Batts rushed in for a three-yard touchdown. The Liberty’s Drew O’Brien kicked a 19-yard field goal that brought the score to 13-10 in favor of the Force.  Wichita Force QB Jake Medlock wasted no time in finding WR Clarence Anderson for a 23-yard touchdown.  On the next Liberty drive Force DB Kendrick Harper picked off Michael German for a short return, but the Force were unable to convert before the end of the quarter.  The Force were up 19-10 moving into the fourth quarter. 
 
The fourth quarter opened up with another rushing touchdown from one-yard out by Wichita RB Tyler Batts.  A short time later Force RB Batts would run in for another one-yard touchdown, his third touchdown of the game. Salina found a burst of momentum from Michael German to Tracy Brooks for a 29-yard touchdown.  Force K Luke Pray would answer with a 21-yard field goal. The Wichita Force would the pressure the Liberty to a safety off of an intentional grounding penalty.  At the end of the game the Force came out victorious, 36-17. 
 
Defensively the Force was effective with 45 total tackles.  DB Chris Hemphill led the way with eight tackles. DB Kiaree Daniels would add seven tackles. LB Jason Catchings and DL Tevin Davis each had five tackles to round out the top tacklers in the game.
