Wichita, KS (June 19) - Over the course of the season, Wichita Force Defensive Back Kendrick Harper made a stellar impact on the team. As a veteran player who knows the Force system, he was able to be a leader and encourage rookies on the field.
Kendrick made himself known throughout the league for interceptions. With a total of eight interceptions for 129 yards, he ranks 2nd in the league in interceptions. Harper’s longest interception return was on April 1st against the Salina Liberty for 37-yards. He had a total of 50 tackles on the season. Harper also had nine pass breakups and a fumble return in 12 games this season.
Other notable interceptions were:
April 1st vs. Salina Liberty: 9-yard interception return
May 6th vs. Dodge City Law: 20-yard interception return
May 12th vs. Salina Liberty: 7-yard interception return
May 20th vs. Dallas Marshals: 18-yard interception return
Kendrick had one kick-off return for an 11-yard touchdown this season.
Harper was named the Wichita Force Player of the Game one time this season. Kendrick was also named 1st Team All-Conference.
When asked how he felt he did this season and how the team did a whole, he responded with, “I felt I did okay but could have improved in some areas. The season as a whole was the most interesting I’ve been around due to a lot of new guys/rookies. Some guys bought into the system, and some didn’t which resulted in the total outcome of our season.”
Kendrick also had a message for the fans, “To the fans: Thanks for the support through the season.”
