The Force Take Down the Cavalry in Final Home Game

WICHITA, Kan. — The Wichita Force improved to 7-4 on Saturday May 27 in a victory over the CenTex Cavalry. On the Force’s opening drive RB Tyler Batts set the tone for the game with an eight-yard touchdown. The Cavalry’s Treavor Pugh would answer with a short two-yard touchdown. A short time later, Wichita FB Tevin Davis added a two-yard touchdown to close the quarter with a score of 14-7.

The Force took charge early on in the second quarter when QB Jake Medlock found WR Joe Morrow for a one-yard touchdown. CenTex’s Ramonce Taylor would answer with his own 17-yard touchdown. After a fumble by the Force the Cavalry would score again with a one-yard touchdown by Donavan William. QB Jake Medlock would close out the half with a seven-yard touchdown pass to WR Chris Anderson, making the halftime score 28-21.

Wichita’s RB Tyler Batts opened up the second half with a nine-yard touchdown. A short time later QB Jake Medlock would find WR Brett Soft for a 19-yard touchdown. On the next Cavalry drive LB Jason Catchings would “scoop and score” off a fumble by Treavor Pugh. CenTex would then score in their next possession with an 18-yard pass completion from Ramonce Taylor to Donovan Rasberr. The score at the end of the third quarter had the Force in the lead 49-28.

The Force would take charge for the rest of the game starting with a one-yard touchdown by QB Arsenio Favor. A short time later, QB Medlock would find WR Clarence for a spectacular 35-yard touchdown catch to add to the Force takeover. Soon after, Force DB Darien Anderson would have back-to-back interceptions to close out the game. The Force would win 63-28.

The Force defense made their presence known all game. LB Jason Catchings led the way with 10 tackles, one fumble return for touchdown, and one blocked kick. DB Deveon Dinwiddie, DB Kiaree Daniels, and DL Keenan Gibbs all had seven tackles each. DL Karsmann Johnson had five tackles and DL Chaq Reed had four tackles and one blocked kick. DB Darien Anderson added three tackles and two interceptions.

The Force is back in action this Friday, June 2 in Allen, TX to take on the Texas Revolution in the final regular season game.
