WICHITA, Kan. — The Wichita Force headed out West to play the Duke City Gladiators for the conclusion of their three-
game road trip. The Wichita Force looked to carry the momentum from their road game win against the Dallas Marshals.
Off to an electric start, the Force started the game with an early touchdown score by rookie standout Jalen Sykes. Sykes scored on an 18-yard rush to put the Wichita Force ahead 6-0 against the Duke City Gladiators. Sykes would conclude the day with 19 yards and a touchdown against the Duke City. The Gladiators would have a response to the early Force touchdown and would take the lead back early in the first quarter.
The quarterback duo of Brandon Steed and Joe Hubener were able to put a pair of touchdowns on the board for the Wichita Force. Joe Hubener was able to tally up to 86 yards, as well as rushing a touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Joe was accompanied by another stellar performance coming from the kicker Luke Pray, who went 4-6 on field goals and was perfect from the field going 2/2 on extra points.
On the defensive side of the ball, Dee Tray Matthews was able to have a standout performance by recording 7 total tackles against the Duke City Gladiators. Matthews was also able to record 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery. The Wichita Force defense is looking to bring the hard-hitting excitement back to Wichita for this week's match-up for their first home game. March 31, 2018, will be the first home game for the Wichita Force. The team will be taking on the Amarillo Venom. The kickoff will be at 7:05 PM at Intrust Bank Arena.
